Class
Descriptions

Creative Movement: Ages 3 – 4
Designed to introduce the technique of dance along with fun activities that promote creativity.

Pre-Ballet: Ages 5 – 6 
An introduction to ballet. Many creative movement class elements are used along with ballet terms.

Ballet 1 Int: Ages 7 – 10  
We use a specific ballet curriculum which focuses on the foundational elements of classical ballet.

Ballet 2 & Up
Students are required to take ballet classes if taking jazz. We use a specific ballet curriculum which builds upon the classical foundation through multi-step combinations and style/presentation coaching. Pointe classes are for level 5 and up only. Most students spend 2-3 years in each level.

Blender
This class is specially designed for the upper-level dancer (level 4 and up) to provide special encouragement while blending a variety of theme-based dance genres, aerobic/strength training exercises and fun times together.

Jazz 4 & Up
Students are required to take ballet classes if taking jazz. Students are taught the techniques of jazz movement and its influences including Latin, African and Hip Hop. Most students spend 2-3 years at each level.

Junior Dance Ministry Team (“Jr. DMT”)
The Junior Dance Ministry Team is a special dance team composed of level 5 dancers who use dance to serve/minister at various local outreaches and venues. Choreography will be taught during class times.  

Senior Dance Ministry Team (“Sr. DMT”)
The Senior Dance Ministry Team is a special dance team composed of professional level dancers, ages 18 and up. This team uses dance to serve/minister at various local and global outreaches and venues.

2nd Child (3rd etc.) Discount: Every 2nd (etc.) child is given $10 off their monthly tuition.

College Student Discount: 30% off tuition – *Applies to attending students only.

Registration Fee: $20 registration fee charged for registrations after August 15th.

Performance Fee: $20 will be charged per student per class to help cover the performance costs. This will be charged both at Winter and Spring Performances. Students are sometimes asked to provide costume elements above and beyond this fee. 

*To participate in the performance, you must be caught up on your tuition payments.

Creative Movement

Girls: Pink leotard, pink tights, hair in bun and bare feet.

Boys: Plain solid t-shirt; jogger style sweatpants with elastic ankle; if hair is long, hair pulled away or up out of face; bare feet.

Pre-Ballet
Girls: Pink leotard, pink tights and hair in bun. Also allowed – ballet skirt (any color). Pink or nude ballet shoes. *

Boys: Shorts/sweatpants and plain t-shirt (any color). Tan or white ballet shoes.* 

Ballet 1 Int & Ballet 2 Int
Girls: Black tank or camisole leotard, pink tights, hair in bun and pink or nude ballet shoes.* Also allowed – ballet skirt (any color). Girls are encouraged to purchase a nude colored camisole leotard for performances. 

Boys: Shorts/sweatpants and plain t-shirt (any color). Tan or white ballet shoes.* 

Levels 4 and Up
Girls: May wear any solid-colored leotard, pink tights and hair in bun. Also allowed: black tights, dancer shorts or skirt and fitted shirt. Girls are encouraged to purchase a nude-colored camisole leotard for performances. Pink or nude ballet shoes. For jazz, nude foot-undeez (lyrical half sole).*  

Boys: Shorts/sweatpants and plain t-shirt (any color). Tan or white ballet shoes.* 

Adult/Teen Classes
Females: Whatever is comfortable. We ask NO mid-driff/half tops. Recommended bottoms: shorts, leggings, sweatpants or biker shorts.

Males: Shorts/sweatpants and plain t-shirt (any color).

*SHOES: Carried only at dance stores (see below for options)
Females: Students should have SPLIT SOLED pink or nude ballet shoes; jazz students should have nude half soled foot-undeez. Pointe shoes: recommend first fitting at Empire Dance Store (see below).

Males: Tan or white dance shoes that are split soled.
